The So To Speak Film Trailer
KING RAE pops her short film cherry and debuts as THE MOTHER in SO TO SPEAK. The film follows a Filipina American student who uses art to encourage new sexualities for herself and other Asian American women. By making a "house of sexuality," she creates the art of sex, and recognizes the traumas and joys of brown girlhood. Stay tuned for the realease!

KING RAE is an actor, vocalist, and illustrator from the San Francisco Bay Area. She began practicing realistic portraiture from the age of 5, and burgeoned into a stage performer as a young adult. As a complement to her years of musical theatre, she is a freelance vocalist who collaborates with East Bay musicians for weddings, festivals, and other special events. She has performed in beloved Bay Area live spaces such as Bindlestiff Studio, Zellerbach Hall, ZSpace, Oakland’s Flight Deck, Protrero Stage, and Counterpulse. RAE’s sound is heavily R&B and Soul inspired, with an exploration of Jazz vocals. She is a powerhouse vocalist, in favor of direct inspiration from her great musical heroes such as Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, and Jennifer Hudson.
In her illustrations as with her music and theatre, KING RAE portrays QTBIPOC and femme bodies who inspire her to live fearlessly and unapologetically.
